Wyalong Museum

Take a step back in time and admire the history that the old Court House encapsulates. The Wyalong museum can be found at 69 Neeld Street Wyalong as you continue on the Newell Highway. This historic building was built in 1900 and is managed by the Bland District Historical Society.

Inside you will find a war room where memorabilia from both wars are displayed along with our special feature, Victoria Cross winner Reg Rattey. See a 1890's bedroom, parlour and kitchen along with historic machinery and mining display in our purpose built shed.

Our museum is run by volunteers and is currently operating from 2pm until 5pm daily.

The Bland District Historical Society Inc has been managing a Museum in the Wyalong district since 1965, the Society started with one room in the School of Arts building with a handful of donated objects. Over time we purchased the historic Sharman House where we remained until last year amassing over 7000 objects pertaining to our early history.
